PHOENIX — Arizona’s first Great Wolf Lodge has settled on Friday as its opening date.
The announcement comes three weeks after the opening was delayed from Sept. 18 because of “a shortage of electricians in the Valley,” according to the resort.
The Scottsdale indoor water park and 350-room resort was originally expected to open its doors Oct. 17 before moving it up twice.
A spokesman told KTAR News 92.3 FM that the lodge, located in the Talking Stick Entertainment District near Loop 101 and Via de Ventura, has already hired more than 600 people.
An overnight stay includes two days’ access to an 85,000-square-foot heated indoor water park with body slides, tube slides, raft rides, activity pools and splash areas.

Among the biggest attractions will be a four-person raft ride called the Diamond Back Drop.
The resort will also have a large outdoor pool with additional water attractions.
Other family-friendly activities will be available, including miniature golf, a ropes course, an exclusive live-action adventure game and eight dining options.
At night, families will be able to gather in the lobby for story time and a dance party to end the day.
The Wisconsin-based company announced it would be building the Arizona venue, the chain’s 18th in North America, in January 2018.
Reservations can be made online.
