Gone are the days when politicians relied solely on hundreds of polls, questionnaires and focus groups to tell them which issues their state cared about the most.

Now, they can just get on Twitter.

A recent Twitter data compilation showed that Arizona tweets more about immigration and border security issues per capita than any other state.

Many border states such as California and Texas showed a moderate tweet amount per capita for these issues, while New Mexico seemed unconcerned.

The best part for politicians? Twitter compiles this data free of charge, tweeting the information from their Twitter Government page. Those trying to land a seat in the House or Senate can access and use this data in their campaigns at no cost to their platforms.

Data sets such as this are also extremely simple to read and process, so the voters win too — they can learn about the issues most relevant to their states via Twitter, and potentially vote for or against them in the upcoming election.
