Arizona Science Center seeks community input on renewal initiative

PHOENIX — Arizona Science Center is entering a transformational stage in its ongoing effort to increase its appeal, and it’s asking for the community’s input on how best to achieve it.

According to an announcement, the initiative seeks to make the center a “must-see part of Arizona” with its signature science experiences, all while broadening the appeal for all ages.

“Our goal is to expand the role and impact of the center as a leading place for informal learning and ensure it remains a vibrant, inclusive and inspiring space for exploring and understanding the wonders of science,” CEO Guy Labine said.

When can community members share thoughts on Arizona Science Center?

The center will hold its first-ever community listening event on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. for free through an online RSVP form.

At the event, experts, educators, families and more will have a platform to share their vision for the center’s impending updates.

“We believe that the best way to serve our community is by listening to it,” Chief of Science and Curiosity Sari Custer said. “This event is a unique opportunity for individuals to have a direct impact on the future of Arizona Science Center, the experiences we create and how we better serve our community in the future.”

The center, which has made recent upgrades such as a new planetarium screen, believes that by broadening the net of opinions it takes in, it will learn what goes into broad appeal.
