Arizona politicians react to Donald Trump’s positive coronavirus test

Arizona politicians were quick to react after President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump tested positive Thursday for the coronavirus.

PHOENIX — Arizona politicians were quick to react after President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump tested positive Thursday for the coronavirus.

The positive tests came after the White House announced senior aide Hope Hicks came down with the virus after traveling with the president several times this week.

Republican politicians in Arizona tweeted their thoughts for the Trumps, including Gov. Doug Ducey who has spoken with Trump frequently regarding Arizona’s response to the pandemic.

Former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer also sent her well wishes to the Trumps.

Democratic U.S. Rep. Greg Stanton gave his well wishes to the Trumps and others who have contracted the virus.

Isela Blanc, a Democratic member of the Arizona House of Representatives, tweeted a reminder about the dangers of the coronavirus.

Democratic U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema shared her well wishes to the President and First Lady on Twitter.

Former U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake also tweeted a message of well wishes.

Democratic U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva, who tested positive for the virus in August, tweeted his well wishes and a reminder of the severity of COVID-19.

Prior to testing positive for the virus, Trump announced earlier on Thursday he was planning on two campaign stops next week in Tucson and Flagstaff.
