Arizona murder suspect injured in shootout with law enforcement officers

An Arizona murder suspect was critically injured in a shootout with law enforcement officers on Wednesday, authorities said.

PHOENIX – An Arizona murder suspect was critically injured in a shootout with law enforcement officers on Wednesday, authorities said.

The incident started when deputies responded to a shooting call in Golden Valley around 1:15 p.m., according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).

The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives took over the investigation and identified 36-year-old Jeremy Muse of nearby Kingman as the suspect.

Muse also was wanted in connection with an earlier shooting in Kingman.

The suspect’s vehicle was located near the Kingman Airport off Highway 66. The driver fled from an attempted traffic stop, sparking a multi-agency pursuit involving MCSO, the Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Kingman Police Department.

Muse allegedly shot at the pursuing officers during the chase, hitting at least one patrol vehicle.

How was Arizona murder suspect captured?

The vehicle crashed at the intersection of Airway Avenue and Willow Road in Kingman, about 5 miles away from where the chase started.

Muse got out of the vehicle and was shot during an exchange of gunfire with officers, MCSO said.

He was treated at the scene and transported to the Kingman Regional Medical Center before being airlifted in critical condition to a hospital in Las Vegas.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is handling the investigation into the shooting and crash.

Too bad the law enforcement agencies didn’t get to finish this person’s existence. Would have saved the taxpayers time and expense.
