Arizona Humane Society waiving adoption fees through Sunday

PHOENIX — The Arizona Humane Society is waiving adoption fees through Sunday to open up space at its shelters.

AHS is caring for more than 1,000 dogs, cats and other animals at its shelters and foster homes.

The special is hoping to result in more than 150 pets ending up in their forever homes. The adoption drive is sponsored by the Bissell Foundation.

All available pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped and caught up on their vaccinations.

Those who adopt a pet will receive a bag of Hill’s Science Diet food and a free follow-up veterinary exam.

Adoptions will be available at both AHS locations — Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion at 1521 W. Dobbins Road in Phoenix and PetSmart at 4380 N. Miller Road in Scottsdale.

The Phoenix location is open for adoptions from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. The Scottsdale shelter offers adoptions daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

All adoptions are by appointment only.
