PHOENIX — You won’t need any green to bring home an adult dog this St. Patrick’s Day weekend from the Arizona Humane Society as the organization is waiving adoption fees.

Dogs that are at least 1 year old can be adopted without the usual associated fees beginning Thursday and lasting through Sunday as part of the St. Paw-trick’s Day celebration.

“This special will create much-needed dog kennel space to continue bringing in more sick, injured and abused pets in need of help,” the organization said in a press release.

Arizona Humane Society has two Valley locations, one at 1521 W. Dobbins Road in Phoenix and another in the PetSmart Scottsdale store at 4380 N. Miller Road.

Available dogs can be viewed online, with the website being updated hourly.

All dogs, as well as the other pets offered at the sites, are spayed/neutered, microchipped and have all vaccinations, the organization said.

Those who decide to add a four-legged friend to their household also receive a bag of Hill’s Science Diet food and a free follow-up veterinary exam with VCA Animal Hospitals.
