Arizona Humane Society vehicles damaged by burglars

PHOENIX — Three Arizona Humane Society vehicles were burglarized at the nonprofit’s Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion location in Phoenix.

A mobile adoption vehicle and two emergency rescue ambulances had their catalytic converters cut out.

On Feb. 15, volunteers discovered the vandalism inflicted on the Waggin’ Wheels Mobile Adoption Vehicle as they were preparing to attend an offsite event.

Vandals struck again on March 1 and were captured on surveillance video between 7:12 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The shelter is exploring its options to prevent further vandalism, including potentially building a garage or hiring security guards.

“Both options are quite a cost to our organization,” shelter spokeswoman Bretta Nelson told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

“We are definitely in need of the public’s help at this time.”
