Arizona Humane Society offering virtual pet training sessions

PHOENIX — If your pets have been a bit more rambunctious in the absence of obedience classes, the Arizona Humane Society is offering virtual help.

Pet owners can use video communication to continue training classes with their dogs and cats.

A half-hour session costs $20.

“While the shelter’s in-person dog training classes are currently suspended due to COVID-19, AHS understands that families may still need training help and is offering a virtual solution through video consultations via Zoom, Skype or FaceTime,” the society said in a statement.

In these classes, the trainers will answer questions from the owners and offer tips on behavioral issues in the animals, basic training and better communication between owner and pet.

“Training with ones’ pet not only helps intensify the human animal bond, but also help address common issues in an effort to help keep pets in their homes with their owners,” the humane society said.
