Arizona Humane Society offering free adoptions for all pets on Saturday

PHOENIX – The Arizona Humane Society is offering free pet adoptions at all of its locations on Saturday.

The special promotion applies to all adoptable pets, even puppies and kittens, regardless of weight or age.

All adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and come with a free veterinarian check-up.

AHS’ 100% adoption guarantee also allows any adopter to return a pet for up to 90 days if the pet is no longer wanted.

Each of AHS’ three locations is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why is the Arizona Humane Society offering free adoptions?

AHS says it is at capacity and needs to create space for more pets in need. Nearly 1,800 pets receive care each day at its shelters or through their Foster Heroes program.

Since more pets come in each day, AHS needs to make more room for the dogs coming in. In the past two months, AHS’ specialized team has responded to approximately 1,000 calls for heat distress. Many of these pets were found with no water, no shelter and were abandoned.

In addition to the adoption event, more than 20 animals are available as foster pets. Those interested in fostering a pet can sign up online.
