PHOENIX – Arizona businessman Jeff DeWit will take over as the chief operating officer on President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign.

DeWit will replace Michael Glassner, who shifted roles to oversee legal issues the campaign faces.

DeWit was previously Trump’s 2016 Arizona campaign chair. There, he helped to oversee the campaign’s budgeting, finances and contracts.

In his new role, DeWit will be involved in rally operations as well as working with the finance team to handle the campaign’s spending and manage expenses as Election Day approaches.

He’s also served as the Arizona state treasurer and was the chief financial officer of NASA under Trump from 2018 until earlier this year when DeWit stepped down to spend more time with his family.

After stepping down, DeWit didn’t specify what his plans were other than planning to return to the private sector.

DeWit attended Trump’s rally in Phoenix at Dream City Church last month where supporters gathered despite surging coronavirus numbers in Arizona.
