PHOENIX — Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced Monday that her office is launching a webpage for individuals to report Social Security disruptions.

Mayes wants to hold the Trump administration accountable and prepare for any implications that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cuts may cause. Billionaire Elon Musk was assigned by President Donald Trump to spearhead the drastic changes to the DOGE.

Why did Arizona AG launch portal for Social Security disruptions?

The Trump administration slashed Social Security staff by 12%, according to Mayes’ office. The cuts could affect phone services and require in-person check-ins, while potentially shutting down field offices simultaneously.

Benefits are to continue as expected. However, there have been concerning reports trickling in, according to Mayes’ office.

“I am highly concerned that Elon Musk and the Trump Administration will take a wrecking ball to the Social Security Administration. We need any Arizonan who experiences any disruption to their hard-earned Social Security to report the issue immediately to my office,” Mayes said in a Monday release. “I refuse to let an authoritarian administration override the rule of law and destroy critical services that millions of Arizonans rely on.”

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office filed multiple lawsuits against the Trump administration, including suing Elon Musk and the DOGE from obtaining the personal information of American citizens.
