Police asking for public’s help in an apartment complex shooting that left 1 dead, 2 injured

PHOENIX — Detectives are asking for the public’s help after a man was killed and two others were injured at an apartment complex shooting in Phoenix on Saturday.

Noel Nava, 18, was identified by Phoenix Police Department as the man who died.

Officers arrived to the complex near 40th and Colter streets around 4:30 a.m., where they found Nava suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Another victim suffering from a gunshot wound was treated by Phoenix Fire then released.

Police later learned there was a third victim who showed up at a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

When detectives arrived on the scene and started speaking with residents, they learned that there had been a large party at the complex just before the shooting.

No suspects have been arrested but police do believe that the suspect was injured during the shooting and that there are multiple shooters involved.

Detectives are still processing evidence and believe that there is cell phone footage from before and during the incident.
