American Airlines anticipates record July 4 holiday travel at Phoenix Sky Harbor

American Airlines projects that Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will have its largest ever July 4 travel period this year.

PHOENIX — American Airlines projects that Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will have its largest ever July 4 travel period this year.

The airline company said it plans to have more than 2,600 flights out of Phoenix between June 27 and July 7, which would be a 4% increase from 2024, according to a press release.

Other expected American Airlines travel numbers out of Sky Harbor

Over the weeklong holiday travel period, American Airlines said the most departures (279) will be on Sunday. Phoenix Sky Harbor and American Airlines serve 95 destinations around the world.

The anticipated nationwide flight number for the airline company over this week is 71,000.
