PHOENIX — An Alaska Airlines flight on its way to Phoenix was forced to make an emergency landing Wednesday morning.
The plane returned to Portland, where it originally took off from, because of a loss of pressure in the cabin. The outbound plane had taken off around 9:30 a.m.
Airport officials said a call from the cockpit less than a hour after takeoff only said there was an issue and had to come back.
The Boeing 737 landed at Portland International Airport about 11 a.m.
There were 144 passengers aboard. Many of those passengers will be on a new flight at 1:30 p.m. The plane began losing air pressure at 30,000 feet.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
