ADOT offering temporary IDs online for drivers with suspended licenses

PHOENIX — Arizona drivers who have had their licenses suspended can now obtain a temporary ID card on an Arizona Department of Transportation website.

The six-month ID card, now available at ServiceArizona.com, used to require an in-person visit to an ADOT Motor Vehicle Division office.

Mike Cryderman, MVD field operations administrator, said in a press release that this move doesn’t just benefit those with suspended licenses; it helps everyone who uses the MVD by reducing overall customer traffic.

The option to get a temporary ID online also makes it easier for those with a suspended license to go about their daily lives, he said.

“People often need a valid ID in order to buy items at the store, go to the bank and apply for a job, among other things,” Cryderman said.

“When customers are faced with a suspended license, it makes having a temporary ID card vital.”
