AAA Arizona: People feeling better about economy, more willing to travel
Growing consumer confidence is resulting in more people taking the travel plunge, according to AAA Arizona's Amy Moreno.
PHOENIX — Growing consumer confidence is resulting in more people taking the travel plunge, according to AAA Arizona’s Amy Moreno.
One of the hottest travel destinations of the new year, Moreno said, will be Italy because of the food, wine and, of course, history. And more niche vacations are popping up, including designated ladies-only trips, she said.
“Most people have that on their bucket list. Once they get there, they realize they realize they need to go back and see more,” Moreno said.
A little closer to home? Moreno said Alaska will be a hotspot, so to speak.
“The best way to see Alaska for the first time is a cruise, because you can see a lot of the little towns and cities instead of staying in one place.”
And Moreno said the country’s national parks should expect more visitors in 2015. National park tour packages are on the rise, according to Moreno, offering travelers the ability to visit between two to five parks in a single trip.
