7 people displaced after 2-house fire in west Phoenix

Seven people have been displaced after a fire involving two adjacent houses in west Phoenix on Saturday morning.

PHOENIX — Seven people have been displaced after a fire involving two adjacent houses in west Phoenix on Saturday morning.

Fire crews responded to reports of a house fire near 35th Avenue and McDowell Road at around 9:00 a.m., according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived, there was heavy smoke coming from the two houses. The fire crews secured multiple water sources and brought handlines into both homes to fight the flames and clear the houses of occupants, authorities said.

Seven people will be displaced between the two houses and the Community Assistance Program is assisting with their needs.

There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
