A 61-year-old Minnesota man died in a ski accident at Arizona Snowbowl Tuesday morning, authorities said.

PHOENIX –A 61-year-old Minnesota man died in a ski accident at Arizona Snowbowl Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The incident occurred just before 10 a.m. on the Phoenix run, the Coconino Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
An investigation revealed the man, identified as Michael Amiot, sustained serious head trauma and was not wearing a helmet, authorities said.
Ski patrol took the man to the Agassiz Lodge where life-saving measures were conducted for around 30 minutes before Amiot was pronounced dead by medical personnel, authorities said.
The Coconino County Medical Examiners Office will determine the cause of death, authorities said, and an investigation into the incident was underway by the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.
