6-year-old in critical condition after being found in pool in west Phoenix

PHOENIX — A 6-year-old boy is in critical condition after being found in a pool in west Phoenix on Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The child was pulled from the pool near 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road by family after an unknown amount of time and CPR was administered before he was transported to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, according to Phoenix Fire.

The boy began breathing on his own during the transport, Phoenix Fire said.

The incident is under investigation and will be handled by Phoenix Fire.

No other details were immediately available.
