50-year-old man hospitalized with burn injuries after Phoenix house sets fire

A 50-year-old man was taken to a burn center with injuries after a Phoenix house set fire Sunday morning, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A 50-year-old man was taken to a burn center with injuries after a Phoenix house set fire Sunday morning, authorities said.

Crews responded to reports of flames coming from the roof of a home around 5:30 a.m. near 55th Avenue and Indian School Road, the Phoenix Fire Department said in a press release.

First responding units extended hose lines to the inside of the home, quickly extinguishing the flames.

It is unknown how severe the injuries are to the man inside the home.

Fire investigators will determine the cause of the blaze, the release said.
