PHOENIX — Four people were hospitalized, including a man with life-threatening injuries, after an accident in Glendale involving six vehicles Friday afternoon, authorities said.

A 1-year-old child and two other adults suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

Preliminary information, according to a Glendale Police Department spokesperson, indicated that a truck crossed the median and struck multiple vehicles near 67th Avenue and Camelback Road.

The accident occurred just before 2 p.m.

All traffic on Camelback between 67th and 69th avenues was shut down while the scene was being investigated. The closure was expected to last at least two hours.

It was not immediately known if speed or impairment played a role in the accident.
