3-year-old boy in extremely critical condition after drowning in Phoenix

A 3-year-old boy was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition after drowning in a pool in Phoenix on Sunday, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A 3-year-old boy was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition after drowning in a pool in Phoenix on Sunday, authorities said.

Firefighters arrived at an apartment complex near Cesar Chavez Blvd. and 40th Street and found the boy out of the pool and not breathing, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Advanced life resuscitation efforts were performed before the child was transported to the hospital, authorities said.

It wasn’t known how long the child was in the water.
