3 treated for stings after being rescued from Phoenix bee swarm

PHOENIX – Rescuers helped three people escape a swarm of bees at a north Phoenix home on Monday morning, authorities said.

The victims were an adult woman and two young children, according to an email from Phoenix Fire Capt. Scott Douglas.

They were treated at the scene — in a residential area near Interstate 17 and Loop 101 — and taken to a local facility in stable condition for additional evaluation, Douglas said.

The fire department responded to the home around 11:15 a.m. and saw bees coming from a back shed.

Crew members put on protective gear and sprayed foam on the bees to get the people out.
