3 injured, 2 seriously, in early-morning apartment fire in Phoenix

PHOENIX – Three people were injured, two seriously, in an early-morning apartment fire Tuesday in Phoenix.

A spokesman for the Phoenix Fire Department said all three jumped out of a second-floor window at the building near 48th Street and Warner Road. All three were taken to a hospital.

Investigators are determining what caused the fire and where it started, but according to first reports they received, the upstairs unit was filled with flames.

Part of the crews worked to keep adjacent apartments from catching fire.

Two families were displaced, first responders said.

No other details were immediately made available.
