2 women charged in connection to fatal west Phoenix shooting

Phoenix police have arrested two people in connection with the fatal shooting of a 48-year-old man last week.

Trinidad Onika Brown, 29, was booked on a charge of second-degree murder.

Trinidad O. Black, 50, was booked on outstanding felony warrants and multiple drug-related charges, including possession of narcotic drugs for sale and possession of dangerous drugs for sale. Black is being held on $2,000 bond.

The arrests stem from a June 19 shooting near Indian School Road and North 43rd Avenue. Police found Otis Sueing Jr. with gunshot wounds in extremely critical condition. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Investigators believe Sueing was shot and then attempted to drive away before crashing his vehicle at the location where he was found, police said.

Detectives spent a week building the case before locating and arresting Brown and Black on Thursday with the assistance of the department’s Street Crimes unit, DEB Technical Surveillance and the Special Assignments Unit, police said. Even more evidence was recovered from two search warrants at Phoenix residences.

Brown was booked on charges directly connected to the homicide, while Black was booked on the outstanding warrants and additional drug charges, according to a department media advisory.
