2 teens accused of robberies at West Valley school bus stops

PHOENIX — Police in a West Valley city have arrested two teenagers, including a minor, suspected of committing armed robberies at school bus stops.

An 18-year-old and a 16-year-old were taken into custody, the El Mirage Police Department said in a press release Tuesday.

No one was ever hurt, according to police.

Police said they had received multiple calls Monday morning about the robberies within the Dysart Unified School District.

Two of the armed robberies happened less than a mile apart, police said.

Witnesses gave officers descriptions of the suspects and the car they were in. Police found the two in a car that had been reported stolen in Goodyear.

During the investigation, officers said they learned the suspects may have been involved in a possible robbery at a convenience store in Surprise.

The suspects face at least two counts each of aggravated assault and armed robbery, police said.

ABC15 reported the 18-year-old was identified as David Artemio Rosales; the 16-year-old’s name was being withheld because he is a minor.
