2 motorcyclists seriously injured after car collision in north Phoenix

PHOENIX — A man and a woman riding a motorcycle were left with “serious injuries” on Wednesday night in north Phoenix after a vehicle collision, authorities said.

The Phoenix Police Department said officers responded around 7:20 p.m. to Ninth Street and Bell Road and found two people thrown from a motorcycle. Their injuries were considered serious but “non-life-threatening.”

The unidentified man and woman were taken to a nearby hospital by Phoenix Fire Department personnel.

The driver of the car stayed at the scene while police began their investigation.

Police believe the driver went through a red light and crashed into the two motorcyclists.

Area traffic was restricted for several hours after the crash.
