2 pedestrians hospitalized after being hit by car in central Phoenix

Two pedestrians were taken to a nearby hospital after being struck by a car in central Phoenix on Friday night, authorities said.

Two pedestrians were taken to a nearby hospital after being struck by a car in central Phoenix on Friday night, authorities said.

Crews responded to the area of Interstate 17 and Dunlap Avenue around 9:15 p.m. for the collision, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Fire officials identified the pedestrians as an adult man and woman.

ABC15 reported that the couple sustained serious injuries.

It was not immediately made clear what led to the pedestrians being hit by the car.
