PHOENIX — An 18-year-old woman died early Sunday morning after a shootout at a Phoenix park, authorities said.
The Phoenix Police Department received a call around 2 a.m. near 35th Avenue and Lincoln Street from witnesses who were taking Riann Curry to the hospital after she suffered gunshot wounds.
The witnesses stopped to call for help for Curry. First responders arrived and took her to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The shooting occurred at a park near 19th Avenue and Roeser Road, about 5 miles from where Curry was located, police said.
The witnesses were interviewed but no suspects have been identified.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
