10-year-old girl hospitalized after west Phoenix mobile home fire

A 10-year-old girl has been hospitalized after a fire broke out at a mobile home in west Phoenix on Thursday.

PHOENIX — A 10-year-old girl has been hospitalized after a fire broke out at a mobile home in west Phoenix on Thursday.

The Phoenix Fire Department responded to the fire around 10:45 a.m. near 29th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

Upon arrival, fire crews worked to suppress the flames that were beginning to spread to another home. The fire was ultimately contained to just one home, authorities said.

The girl was rescued by bystanders, while crew members evaluated her for smoke inhalation. She was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. 

 

Authorities said three people will be displaced, and Community Assistance Program workers are on the scene helping out the individuals.

No firefighters were hurt, authorities said.

An investigation into what started the fire remains ongoing, and no other information was made available.
