1 teen killed, 3 injured after vehicle crashes into Glendale business

Police are investigating a crash that killed one person and injured three others near 53rd and Grand avenues in Glendale on Thursday night.

PHOENIX — Police are investigating a fatal vehicle crash in Glendale Thursday evening.

One person involved in the accident, which occurred at approximately 7 p.m. near 53rd and Grand avenues, died at the scene, according to police.

Three others were taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No names of the victims have been released.

Police said a blue Infiniti G35 sedan was traveling northwest on Grand Avenue when the driver lost control and crashed it into a business. Four occupants were inside the vehicle, the driver a 17-year-old male, along with two 16-year-old female passengers, were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 15-year-old male was pronounced deceased on-scene.

Grand Avenue westbound was closed between 51st and 57th avenues for hours while police investigated the crash.

Police are unsure if another vehicle was involved and are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call the Glendale Police Department at (623) 930-3000.
