1 man hospitalized after being hit by a truck in downtown Phoenix

A man was hospitalized after being hit by a truck in downtown Phoenix on Wednesday evening.

PHOENIX – A man was hospitalized after being hit by a truck in downtown Phoenix on Wednesday evening, according to authorities.

Phoenix police officers were called to the intersection of 7th Avenue and Fillmore Street at 5:40 p.m. after a man in a crosswalk was hit by a truck, authorities said.

Upon arriving, officers found a man with serious injuries. Paramedics took him to a nearby hospital where he was treated for life-threatening injuries.

Following an initial investigation, detectives believe the man was walking in a marked and activated crosswalk across 7th Avenue when he was hit by the truck driven by an adult man.

Authorities said the driver stayed at the scene and did not show any signs of intoxication. A charging decision will come after the investigation has been completed.
