1 man dead and 1 in critical condition following shooting in Phoenix

PHOENIX — One man is dead and another is in critical condition following a shooting in Phoenix on Saturday night, authorities said.

Police said the shooting occurred near the intersection of 59th Avenue and McDowell Road where one of the victims was found in critical condition and transported to the hospital.

The second victim was found in a car near 61st Avenue and McDowell Road where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the second victim left the scene of the shooting in his car after the incident.

According to police, both men were involved in an altercation when the shooting occurred.

The incident is under investigation and no further information has been released.
