1 in critical condition following rescue in wash in Buckeye

PHOENIX — One person is in critical condition Tuesday after authorities found a vehicle stuck in a wash in Buckeye while in the middle of a follow-up of a separate investigation.

Buckeye police said they found two elderly people inside the vehicle near the rugged area of 207th Lane and Tiger Mountain Drive in the Victory area of Verrado.

Fire units from Buckeye, Avondale, Glendale, Goodyear and Buckeye Valley used ATVs to get to vehicle and rescue the occupants.

One person was flown to a local hospital and was listed in critical condition. The condition of the other person was unknown, authorities said.

No other information was immediately available.
