Mesa Community College to offer 2 courses on Apple IT help in spring 2026

PHOENIX — Mesa Community College students will have the opportunity to become Apple IT experts beginning next spring, as the two-year institution will offer two courses centered on the technology brand.

Apple Device Support will be offered to students in January as a noncredit class, while Jamf Training Foundation will begin in March as a three-credit course that can be an extension of the former or by itself.

Both courses will be half a semester in length and taught by MCC computer information systems faculty member Carl Cortez.

Jamf is the “leading Apple device management platform” utilized by IT specialists across the country. Learning it will get students ready for Jamf Certified Tech credentials, according to a press release.

As an added incentive, anyone who completes the Apple Device Support class during its debut semester will earn $545 in reimbursement for their spring tuition fees and the class’s certification test. Students will hone their skills with the latest Apple operating system, iOS 26, “focusing on device setup, management and diagnostics.”

“As organizations increasingly rely on Apple technology, there is a growing need for professionals who can support and manage these systems,” Cortez said.

Students are able to enroll in either course regardless of their degree path, with the option to take both during the spring 2026 semester. Each will be conducted in a hybrid format, meaning online and in-person at the Mesa Community College campus.

The school, which is located near the intersection of Dobson Road and Southern Avenue, recently announced another pair of new courses for the spring, both centered on artificial intelligence. Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Introduction to Python Programming can both be taken without prerequisites and will be accepted at select in-state four-year universities.
