PHOENIX — As the Isaac School District manages a multimillion-dollar budget deficit, it is looking for more ways to bring in funding.
During Thursday’s meeting, the Phoenix district’s governing board approved a lease deal for the Estrella Brillantes Center for Learning building.
The building will be leased to an education company called STEER that works with children with special needs or behavioral issues.
The lease agreement will be for three years at a time, with a monthly rate of $10,250.
Isaac is working to increase revenue after facing a nearly $28 million budget deficit. In another decision made during Thursday’s meeting, the district will close two of its elementary schools.
How does leasing building help Isaac School District?
Jim Serbin, Isaac’s chief financial officer, said the lease will help with income and will also save money in transportation costs due to the proximity of the specialized school, which already serves the district’s students.
“We are responsible for transporting the students one way or another, either paying an outside service, paying STEER, or doing it ourselves,” he said during Thursday’s board meeting.
Serbin said the deal also could boost Isaac’s enrollment with STEER sending kids who have completed the program back to district classrooms.
“The goal of the program is to basically get things in good shape with the students — let the students know there’s a positive reward, so to speak, for getting it right — and then at that point in time, when everyone agrees, the student then comes back as our student in the district.” he said.
The building STEER is leasing is located at 4006 W. Osborn Road in Phoenix.

"This post isn’t about gender, I already wiped the floor with you on that point."
lol, you ran away because you can define the terms. You think the SOCTUS defines words. Lol, wipe the floor. You are delusional. If you wiped the floor, answer the questions. You wont because you and i both know, you are a coward.
"New rule, I don’t answer questions or play games with idiots."
Because you cant answer obvious questions. Run away Julzrulz....again. it is what you do when your bs talking points fail.
You still can't refute anything i said on ESA. The funding taken from the overall education budget should not impact the schools in they way you are claiming (i posted the fact sheet that summarizes the points....yes from a biased source, every source is, disprove the points though). The issues you listed predate esa and have been only getting worse regardless of esa. You clearly dont have any experience with ESA and are only repeating headlines.
Youre a joke of a trans women and continue to prove so.
Omg you’re like a f’ing fly.
Your views are a joke and my points are valid and not failed
This post isn’t about gender, I already wiped the floor with you on that point.
New rule, I don’t answer questions or play games with idiots.
When your talking points fail, this is what you resort to.
A different bill was passed then the bill that was rejected in 2018. The referendum to stop the new bill in 2022 failed. Why is that not the will of the people then? Because you don't care about the will of the people, you just use that when convenient, even in the face of reality.
Your view of ESA is a joke. You have no experience with it. "no accountability, transparency, all children aren’t welcome and you’re spending it on 3D printers or ski trips." You're ok with the government spending feverously but not when the tax payer does?
This is what you do, run when talking points fail you. I am still waiting for you to tell me the following:
1. What is the difference between $ex, gender and their stereotypes?
2. Why do you recognize the biology of race but not $ex?
3. Why do understand age is not flexible but cant admit $ex is purely biological?
Careful, to answer the above questions honestly, there are no left talking points for you to use.
