ASU has strong showing in US News rankings of best online programs

PHOENIX — Arizona State University’s online degree programs were recently ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

In the 2026 online programs rankings, ASU was listed among the top 10 in more than two dozen categories. For its undergraduate and graduate programs, the university also earned eight top-three program rankings.

One of the more notable recognitions was ASU Online moving up in the rankings to No. 6 for best online bachelor’s programs, sharing the spot with Oregon State University and University of Central Florida.

“These rankings reflect Arizona State University’s continued focus on designing online degree programs that put students first,” ASU Vice President and Provost Nancy Gonzales said in a press release. “Across undergraduate and graduate programs, our faculty and staff are working to ensure leaders receive the same high-quality academic experience online as they would on campus, with the flexibility needed to succeed.”

More than 110,000 people have graduated from ASU’s online degree programs, and the university currently has more than 107,000 online student across the globe.

Some of ASU’s online bachelor programs that receive recognition were its bachelor’s in business which came in at No. 2 and its bachelor’s programs for veterans that landed at No. 3.

As for online graduate programs, the university earned recognition for its business, education, engineering, technology, health and public service courses.

The online master’s in business programs that students can take through the W.P. Carey School of Business placed at No. 4 in the rankings, landing above Duke University, Michigan State University and Ohio State University. Meanwhile, the university’s online MBA program landed at No. 8.

The business schools also a received a number of top-10 rankings, including:

• Master’s business (non-MBA) programs for veterans at No. 3
• MBA in business analytics at No. 4
• MBA in marketing at No. 4
• MBA in general management at No. 4
• MBA programs for veterans at No. 6
• MBA in finance at No. 9

In addition, the Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning was put at No. 8 for overall best online master’s education programs and No. 4 in programs for veterans.

There were also a number of ASU’s graduate education programs that received recognition, including:

• Educational/instructional media design, which was placed No. 1.
• Curriculum and instruction, which was ranked No. 2
• Educational administration and supervision landed at No. 4
• Special education, which was listed at No. 4

“These rankings reflect the intentional work happenings across ASU to design online degree programs that are rigorous, scalable and responsive to learner needs,” Phil Regier, university dean for educational initiatives and CEO of EdPlus at ASU, said.

“Through close collaboration with academic units across the university, ASU Online continues to expand educational access while supporting learners at every stage of their academic and professional journeys.”
