Phoenix’s competitive grocery sector is about to get another player added to the mix.
Southern California-based Vallarta Supermarkets announced it would be opening its first Arizona location on Jan. 14. The new store will be located in the Grandview Plaza shopping center on the northeast corner of 59th Avenue and Camelback Road, near the border of Glendale and Phoenix.
Earlier this year, the center’s ownership moved around a pawn shop tenant within the center so Vallarta could occupy 49,000 square feet where the shop and a former Goodwill store used to operate.
