Peoria body armor maker TYR Tactical to be acquired in $175M deal

TYR Tactical, a Peoria business, will be acquired in a $175 million transaction. Jacksonville, Florida-based Cadre Holdings Inc. will take it over.

One of Phoenix Business Journal’s fastest-growing private companies will be acquired in a $175 million transaction.

Peoria-based body armor manufacturer TYR Tactical has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Jacksonville, Florida-based Cadre Holdings Inc. in a deal that is projected to close in the first half of 2026.

Cadre Holdings (NYSE: CDRE) manufactures and distributes safety and survivability equipment used by law enforcement, first responders and military globally. Cadre’s brands include Safariland and Med-Eng.

TYR Tactical was founded in 2010 by Jane Beck and Jason Beck — who is also mayor of Peoria. The company also has facilities in El Paso, Texas; Ontario, Canada; and Aarhus, Denmark.
