The Escape Game will open its first Arizona location at the end of the month in downtown Gilbert’s Heritage District, the company announced.
The Nashville company’s claim to fame is a twist on the timed escape room brainteaser.
In “Murder with a Side of Meatballs,” players investigate a fictional homicide inside a fully built-out Italian restaurant stage. They’ll use a digital evidence board to identify the killer rather than trying to escape a locked room, as seen in traditional escape room games.
The other four games span art museum heists, ocean mysteries and planet-saving adventures. All five rooms run on a 60-minute clock.
“The Phoenix metro is one of the most dynamic, fast-growing regions in the country, full of people who love great experiences,” Escape Game co-founder Jonathan Murrell said in a news release.
The Gilbert location opens on July 31.
A second Arizona location is under construction at CityScape in downtown Phoenix. That location is scheduled to open in September.
