PHOENIX – Tech giant NVIDIA announced plans Monday to produce artificial intelligence supercomputers entirely in the U.S. for the first time using chips made in Arizona.
“The engines of the world’s AI infrastructure are being built in the United States for the first time,” Jensen Huang, NVIDIA founder and CEO, said in a press release. “Adding American manufacturing helps us better meet the incredible and growing demand for AI chips and supercomputers, strengthens our supply chain and boosts our resiliency.”
NVIDIA said it has commissioned over a million square feet of manufacturing space to build and test chips in Arizona and produce AI supercomputers in Texas.
How is Arizona involved in NVIDIA’s AI supercomputer plan?
TSMC has begun making NVIDIA’s Blackwell superchips at its factory complex in north Phoenix.
Amkor and SPIL will partner with NVIDIA on the packaging and testing of those chips.
The production of AI supercomputers is expected to ramp up at plants in Houston and Dallas in the next 12-15 months.
The supercomputers are designed for a new type of data center with the sole purpose of processing artificial intelligence.

Thank you President Trump.
I am sure there will be those out there that don't like this "made in America" nonsense because it fits perfectly with a certain persons agenda.
INTEL Corp has several wafer fabs (CHIPS) in the US. Primarily in OR, NM and AZ. This part of the manufacturing is not labor intensive. Mostly is done by robots due to the precision and tight standards that is required.
The 2nd part is called Assembly & Test where the wafers are cut, put on a substrate and tested prior to be sold to the final customer This part is very labor intensive and they completed it in China, Malaysia, Vietnam and Costa Rica,
However TSCMA does everything in the US for NVIDIA. I wonder what level of efficiency have they achieved to make this 2nd step of the manufacturing process sufficiently cost effective to still make money. Good for them!!! I struggle to understand why a US company like INTEL can not achieve this level of efficiency locally?
