Goodwill to open new store in East Valley, offer deals for grand opening

A new Goodwill store is set to open in Mesa and the store is offering a deal for the first 150 shoppers at its grand opening.

PHOENIX — A new thrift store is opening soon in Mesa and the first 150 people to visit will get a special deal.

Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) will open a new store in the plaza anchored by the Bashas’ grocery store on the southwest corner of Higley and Brown roads on Aug. 21.

The store will open with a ribbon cutting at 8:45 a.m. The first 150 people to visit the store when the doors officially open at 9 a.m. will get a $5 gift card to use inside.

Anyone who brings a full bag of donations to the new Goodwill location through opening weekend will receive a coupon to get $5 off a purchase of $10 or more. But that’s not all.

“We always look forward to a new store and the excitement from the community during grand opening festivities,” GCNA Senior Vice President and Chief Retail Officer Adam Lewis said in a press release. “We invite everyone to come out and take part in the celebration and enjoy free coffee and donuts.”

After the grand opening, the store will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.

Is Goodwill offering any other deals?

The thrift store will give shoppers a major discount on Monday as it will offer 50% off on used goods at all of its central and northern Arizona locations.

As part of the promotion, stores will be open an extra two hours, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. that day.

The deal will not be valid for new items and cannot be combined with any other discounts.
