Home Depot set to open new store in West Valley

Home Depot is opening a new store in the West Valley next week that expects to bring more than 150 jobs to residents in the community.

The 106,206-square-foot location off Verrado Way and Roosevelt Street in Buckeye will host a community event and ceremony on the evening of June 17 before having its grand opening on June 18.

The board-cutting ceremony will feature speeches from Home Depot leadership and city officials, such as Buckeye Mayor Eric Orsborn.

Additionally, a donation will be presented to the CEO of HandsOn Greater Phoenix, which is a nonprofit volunteer management organization that puts volunteers to work in communities in need.

Following the ceremony, the location’s doors will open to the public at 6 p.m. for an event that will have kids workshops and a spin wheel game. There will also be hats and totes handed out.

The next day, grand opening festivities will include food trucks, music and giveaways for shoppers.

The store will have a rental center as well as an outdoor garden area.
