PHOENIX — Harkins Theatres will be conducting “a comprehensive remodel” of its Norterra location, which will soon get the company’s first 4D theater.

Moviegoers can expect the following by the end of the summer at the location near the Interstate 17 and Happy Valley Road:

  • Two CINÉXL theaters equipped with laser projection and Dolby Atmos sound.
  • One 4D E-Motion Experience theater that will feature “motion-enabled seats with effects such as wind, water mist, scent and vibration.”
  • New reclining seats in each theater.
  • CINÉBAR, from which those ages 21 and older can purchase cocktails, mocktails, beers and wines.

The lobby and individual theaters will also be touched up with new carpeting, lighting, paint and decor, according to a Friday press release.
