PHOENIX — The only two Valley locations of a fried-chicken-centric fast-food chain have closed.

A spokesman for PDQ, which stands for “People Dedicated to Quality,” told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Monday the closures of the Phoenix and Tempe locations are permanent.

The restaurant at Cactus Road and Tatum Boulevard opened in September 2017, and the other near Priest Drive and Warner Road opened in January 2019. Both spots’ last day of business was Dec. 27.

The spokesman said the franchisee in the area made the “difficult decision” to close the locations, but he did not have further information on why the doors were shuttered.

The chain, founded in 2009, has locations in Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Its restaurants offer a menu including homemade sauces, made-to-order sandwiches and milkshakes.
