Industrial AI company Cognite relocates HQ to Tempe

PHOENIX — Cognite, an industrial AI company, announced Wednesday that it’s new global headquarters had opened in Tempe.

The company’s headquarters was previously located in Oslo, Norway.

“Establishing our global headquarters in Arizona represents an exciting new chapter for Cognite as this positions Cognite at the center of American innovation and manufacturing,” Cognite CEO Girish Rishi said in an announcement. “Arizona’s thriving technology ecosystem, skilled workforce and strategic location make it the ideal home for our next phase of growth. We’re excited to contribute to the local economy and build strong partnerships within this innovative community.”

The industrial AI company relocating its headquarters is expected to create more than 100 new jobs in metro Phoenix. These positions would be in AI innovation, software engineering, marketing, sales and corporate functions.

The headquarters relocation is meant to be strategic as it is now close to universities as well as a tech ecosystem and that will allow the company to attract talent from AI, cloud, data and industrial engineering.

In addition, multiple Cognite senior leaders relocated from Norway to Arizona in order to ensure that the company’s vision and expertise is continued.

Katie Hobbs said. “With its new global headquarters in Arizona, Cognite is strengthening our state’s position as a leader in advanced technologies, reinforcing our reputation as a place that’s pioneering the future and creating family-sustaining jobs for Arizonans.”

The headquarters location in Tempe will not only allow the company to better serve its global industrial clients but also collaborate with partners in the advanced manufacturing sector.

It will be the central hub for the company’s global operations and help it use AI and data-driven technology solutions to transform industrial operations.
