A paddleboarder had quite the outing when he caught a pod of orcas swimming near the southern California coast on film.
Rich Gurman, who lives in Laguna Beach, Calif., went out paddleboarding when he heard there was a pod of orcas — commonly called killer whales — moving down the coast.
When Gurman found them, he was in for quite the treat. The whales swam under his board numerous times and surfaced just feet from him. He said the whales were so close at one point he braced himself in case they knocked his board over.
Gurman recorded the pod as they swam just feet from him. Thankfully, he uploaded it to Facebook.
