Organic food ‘experts’ fooled by McDonald’s offerings

Turns out it doesn't take much to fool the so-called experts.

Turns out it doesn’t take much to fool the so-called experts.

Two hosts of LifeHunters.tv, a digital production agency that specializes in viral video content, buy a duffel bag full of McDonald’s food and serve it to several “high-end food experts” at a culinary expo in Houten, Netherlands, as seen in a clip that has been watched more than 5 million times on YouTube since it was posted last month.

The two hosts first cut up and dress up the entrees a little bit to disguise their source. And then Big Macs, McNuggets and other offerings from the “Golden Arches” are served to unsuspecting food connoisseurs.

Near the end of the clip, the hosts even ask the taste testers to compare what they’re eating to McDonald’s fare, and the responses amusingly lack self-awareness.

All that’s missing is Ashton Kutcher popping out to tell the food snobs, “You’ve been punk’d!”

And what’s LifeHunters’ main takeaway? If you tell someone that they’re eating something organic, they’ll probably take your word for it.
