Jerry Seinfeld rips advertisers while accepting award from advertisers

It may just be us, but you generally you shouldn’t insult the people who give you an award.

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld toed that line when accepting a CLIO Award Oct. 1. The award is given out by advertisers and Seinfeld used his nearly-five minute acceptance speech to mock, you guessed it, advertisers.

The best line?

“I think spending your lives trying to dupe innocent people out of hard-won earnings to buy useless, low-quality, misrepresented items and services is an excellent use of your energy.”

Ouch.

Of course, everyone in attendance laughed and cheered. Satire is a true art form.
